Often you will hear people longing for their lives to be different. “I wish I had more money, was smarter, thinner” yadayadayada…. I think that wishing puts the outcome in a fantasy or ‘out of reach’ position. I think it is more useful to ‘pray for a bus and then run to catch it’. In order to be happy, you need to know what your own definition of happy is. For some people it is working half a day and laying on the beach the other half. For others’ it’s the creativity of forming and running your own business. For another person it might be having lots of friends, and hosting lots of dinner parties. Whatever your idea of the ‘good life’ is, be really clear about it and then start figuring out what it will take to create it. Wake up each morning with the intention that you deserve to have the life that you’ve envisioned, and then take the action that moves you in that direction. Apply for a new higher paying job; take a course; start an exercise regime, etc…..but take charge of knowing what you want for YOUR life and then you will have a far better chance of succeeding with the outcomes.
